The idea behind SILVIVO®
SILVIVO® was developed by the Swedish agtech company Cropcision, founded in 2022 and built on research from Umeå University in collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
Forestry is currently undergoing a critical transition. Climate change, increasing drought risk, growing pressure from pine weevil, and rising establishment costs are making successful forest regeneration increasingly difficult.
At the same time, there is increasing pressure to reduce site preparation, protect biodiversity, and meet certification standards for more sustainable forest management. Forest owners, contractors and forestry companies need solutions that improve seedling survival without increasing environmental impact or requiring significant additional investment.
SILVIVO® is designed to address these challenges.

The team behind SILVIVO®

Jonas Gullberg – Business Development & Sales
With a PhD from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and a background in forest genetics, plant physiology and analytical chemistry, Jonas combines deep scientific expertise with many years of experience in business development and marketing within technology-driven industries.
He is driven by translating research and innovation into practical solutions that create real value in the forest – with transparency, long-term thinking and genuine partnerships forming the foundation for both growth and trust.

Jonathan Love – CEO & Co-founder
Jonathan Love is the CEO and co-founder of Cropcision, the company behind SILVIVO®. He holds a PhD in biotechnology from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and trained as a forest manager at University of Melbourne. He has worked in forest management and research across Australia, New Zealand and Vanuatu.
Jonathan has spent many years working at the intersection of research and commercialisation, with a focus on bringing science-based innovations from the laboratory to practical, large-scale application.
He is driven by developing solutions that deliver long-term value for both end users and the environment, supporting the sustainable supply of food and forest products.

Michael Holmboe – Co-founder
Michael Holmboe is a Senior Lecturer at Umeå University, Sweden, and co-founder of Cropcision, where he has developed the technology behind SILVIVO® together with CEO Jonathan Love. His research focuses on molecular geochemistry, with a particular emphasis on how water and minerals interact in soils.
He holds a background from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and has conducted postdoctoral research in both the United States and Sweden. Michael is driven by translating advanced research into practical solutions that help forest owners manage their land and forests in a sustainable way.
